Birchbox Review - October 2013 | Monthly Subscription Boxes

My first Birchbox arrived last week, so I'm excited to share this Birchbox review. With a Birchbox subscription, you’ll get high-end beauty and lifestyle samples from top brands every month for only $10. The box itself was a tad smaller than I thought it would be, but it had some amazing beauty products inside! I love the bold pink color of the shipping box.

Once you open the outer box, you get this beautiful brown box with the Birchbox name imprinted in silver on the front. I can definitely use this box for storage or even gifting makeup items in the future!

A Peek Into the Box

Upon opening this lovely little kraft colored box, I see 4 different beauty samples/products, but there are actually 2 products inside the orange pillow box.

The Info Card

The info card says that the full-size products of this box retail at $49.50. The Bain de Terre shampoo and conditioner are samples, but the POP Beauty Aqua Lacquer and RUFFIAN Nail Lacquer are full-size. We estimate the retail value of the October 2013 Birchbox to be $33! That's a great deal for only $10 with FREE shipping!

The Beauty Products

From what I can see on Amazon, the Bain de Terre shampoos and conditioners get some 4-5 star ratings. I got the Macadamia Oil scent and it smells like an ocean breeze! I can't wait to use them both! The added bonus is they are paraben-free and made in Europe (which we know has higher testing standards for both cosmetics and food).

The next two items are the POP Beauty Aqua Lacquer and RUFFIAN Nail Lacquer. The POP Beauty Aqua Lacquer is a sheer lip gloss and is made with jojoba oil. It comes with a nice padded applicator stick. I am loving the Floating Rose color I received!

The RUFFIAN Nail Lacquer is in a metallic green color – which I'm not accustomed to wearing, but this color really is fab. It will be great for a night out or even everyday wear!

The last product is a ChapStick Hydration Lock Lip Care Moisturizer. As a chapstick addict, I am really excited about this product. It claims to have 8-hour moisture and says it gives your lips a fuller and smoother appearance. That's definitely needed as I get older!
